LIPA Customer Satisfaction 6th Worst Nationally 3rd Worst Regionally

You would never know it by today’s LIPA press release but the JD Power Associates 2011 Residential Customer Satisfaction Survey has again rated LIPA near the bottom of the rankings. Out of a possible 1000 points, the authority tallied only 582, rating it as one of the worst performing large utilities in the eastern region of the country in terms of residential customer satisfaction. Even Consolidated Edison with higher electric rates than LIPA had a much higher ranking. This confirms the poor ratings for LIPA in another recently issued survey by a group affiliated with the University of Michigan. It is time for LIPA to stop glossing over poor performance with carefully worded press releases and get down to the business of improving service to customers

One Response to LIPA Customer Satisfaction 6th Worst Nationally 3rd Worst Regionally

  1. Rob from LI says:

When there was an outage during one of the coldest nights in the winter and I had two small children in an unheated house, the only way I could speak to a human being before 8 pm was to choose “billing” (go figure) and after 8 I had to say I was reporting a downed wire. Not very good when your thermometer reads 50 and you’re trying to decide whether to evacuate your kids to a hotel before the roads ice up. Another time I called to report fluctuating voltage and brownout conditions on a Saturday afternoon and was told they might be able to send someone to check it out on Tuesday.

COME BACK LILCO! I MISS YOU!
